In 1936, 19 years after the first telephone line was established in Nepal, in 1935, the then royal palace finally got a telephone line.

After the establishment of an automatic exchange with a capacity of 25 lines in the palace, the palace was allowed to use the phone but not the general public.

In 1955, the government began distributing telephone lines to the public. The 64-year history of telephone establishment in Nepal says that the fastest development in the development of internet technology was done by the telephone sector of Nepal.
