Who is the Mayoral Candidate Balen Shah?

Who is Balen shah: Some independent candidates are in the news as much as the party candidates in the upcoming municipal elections on May 13. Among them, Balen Shah, who is an independent candidate for mayor in the Kathmandu metropolis, is the most talked about.

Balen’s full name is Balendra Shah. He was born 31 years ago in Naradevi, Kathmandu. His father’s name is Ram Narayan Shah and his mother’s name is Dhuvradevi. Her father is an Ayurvedic doctor. Balen’s brother is a skilled chartered accountant. His Brother’s Wife is a banker and his sister is a painter. Balen’s wife Sabina works in the public health sector.

Balen rapper is also interested in music from an early age. He is an engineer by profession. Balen passed Plus Two from VS Niketan School in Kathmandu and studied civil engineering at Himalayan Whitehouse Engineering College in Khumaltar. After studying bachelor’s, he did structural engineering in Bangalore.

After completing his studies in India, he returned home and started working as an engineer. He was involved in the reconstruction work after the Gorkha earthquake of Baisakh 2072. In particular, after the proclamation of the new constitution on 3 Asoj 2072, India imposed a blockade on Nepal. From that time Balen became interested in politics. Before entering politics, he was involved in social activities.

Balen had announced to become the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City last December. He has been active in publicity ever since by informing the mayor through social Media.

What is his commitment to the metropolis?

Independent candidate Balen has put forward plans ranging from digital government to Idea Bank in his election manifesto. He also pledged to register personal incidents and distribute old age allowance from door to door.

The declaration states that an online payment system will be introduced at all levels, right to information and procurement, use of the digital medium for transparency of tender process and budget, arrangement of home delivery of birth certificate, death certificate, marriage registration and other documents.

He said that the aim is to help the youth find their personal career path by participating in career counselling and coaching classes. He is also committed to providing history, yoga, Ayurveda and mythology education by revising the curriculum for grades 1 to 8.
