Leading electronics company Sony has announced a bug bounty program for the gaming console PlayStation. Under this program, gamers or any common man can be entitled to this award by removing bugs in PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Network. Earlier, Sony’s PlayStation’s Bug Bounty program was private, but for the first time this year, the company has announced it will be made public.

Announcing this bug bounty program, Sony wrote in its blog, ‘Security is a core part of our product that gives our community a great experience. We attach great importance to the research community to strengthen security. We’re excited to announce the new Bug Bounty program. “
Sony has divided the prize money of Bug Bounty into four parts which include Critical, High Security, Medium Security and Low Security. Finding critical bugs in the PlayStation 4 will fetch $50,000, while finding high, medium and low security bugs will fetch $10,000 and $2500 respectively.
The company has partnered with HackerOne for this and the program is working to find flaws in the PS4 system, operating system, accessories and PlayStation network. It is important to note that PS3 and PS2 are not part of this program.
