Register Mobile IMEI in MDMS Nepal: Illegal mobile phones will not be allowed in Nepal from next Sawan 1st. The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has been registering International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers for the past three and a half years to stop illegally imported mobiles. registering International Mobile Equipment Identity numbers of 16.6 million mobiles have been registered during the period.
Earlier, preparations were made to shut down the illegal phone from Baisakh 1, but due to the epidemic of coronavirus, the Nepal Telecommunication Authority’s mobile device management system project was delayed.
NTA, which has given priority to registering International Mobile Equipment Identity registration of mobiles in the first phase, is now starting the work of shutting down unregistered mobiles. For that, work is being done on Mobile Device Management System-MDMS connection project. The project is being commissioned by Numera (M) SDN BHD Malaysia, OSI Consulting Pvt. India and Namaste Global Com Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture company in Singapore.
The company will design, develop, supply, connect, test, and operate MDMS systems. An agreement was reached between NTA and the company 6 months ago to complete the project in the next 1 month. According to NTA, the company is currently engaged in system development and construction.

The system will work for registering International Mobile Equipment Identity registration of mobile phones operating all over Nepal, registration of SIM cards of all mobile operators, registration of other devices with registering International Mobile Equipment Identity. Along with this, illegally entered mobiles in Nepal will be shut down. That is why registering International Mobile Equipment Identity registration of mobiles has been made mandatory. Here we are telling you about the process from viewing the IMEI number of the mobile to registering.
How to find your mobile’s IMEI number?
Mobile users will be able to see the IMEI number of their mobile by dialing *#06# on their mobile. If the mobile supports only one SIM, it shows only one IMEI number. If duel SIMs are needed then there are two IMEI numbers. If there are two, both IMEI numbers have to be registered with the authority.

If your mobile IMEI is registered, you can register it online. Check your mobile IMEI registered or not from this link To personally register your mobile IMEI number, go to this link and sign up first. As soon as you sign up, you will see the ‘New Importer’ and ‘Individual Application’ options.
You have to go inside by clicking on the individual application. There you will find a form. Fill in the required information on the form. Also, submit a scanned copy of any official identity card provided by the government like license or citizenship.
After that, NTA will check and register based on the available information. In the case of commercial importers, type approval is required first. After getting the type approval, the registering International Mobile Equipment Identity number of the device they are going to bring should be made available to the authority.
The importing company gets the registering International Mobile Equipment Identity of the mobile device it is about to bring before importing the goods.
In the case of an importer, NTA provides a user ID and password. The importer can log in by following this link with the same user ID and password. There is a facility from taking type approval to uploading the number.
As soon as the IMEI number is uploaded, an application can be submitted to the authority. Whether the IMEI number is valid or not is checked on the basis of the application. IMEI number is registered in NTA’s steam only after getting everything.
