Dollars can now be paid from Nepal for platforms like Amazon prime video and Netflix.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a notification that even if you do not have a dollar account, you can pay up to $500 annually by taking prepaid card from ‘A’ and ‘B’ class banks.

Until now, only a dollar account could be used to make payments abroad. According to NRB, the new arrangement has been implemented after there was difficulty in paying the amount due to import of foreign services and goods in Nepal.

Before people of Nepal can not pay outside of country because Nepal Rastra Bank Can not open International payment getaway service.

In addition, commercial banks and development banks will be able to issue prepaid cards worth $ 500 to customers. Through which social media and other online transactions can be paid in dollars.

For a long time, there were complaints that there were problems with social media and other online payments. Therefore, keeping this in mind, NRB has implemented the new system.

NRB has made arrangements to deposit up to $ 500 in foreign currency on the card at the request of the customer. The card can be used to purchase any goods and services except those prohibited by Nepali law. If the user is selling the service abroad, the money earned from it will have to be arranged in the same card. NRB has clarified that such cards cannot be used to withdraw money from ATMs and use POS machines.
