Tribhuvan University central library has started providing online facility read online TU Central Library Book. The Central Library under Nepal’s oldest university has launched a free online TU library for students.
The central library has made arrangements to read books, documents, journals, etc. online through a remote access system. For which the request database software with remote access service is connected.
The Tribhuvan central library has purchased software from the UK for Rs 3.2 million. Students from other campuses under the TU and affiliated universities will also be able to read books for free from the TU Central library’s Proclamation database software.
Contains books, journals, articles, essays, etc. published by world-renowned foreign scholars. To read these materials for free, students need to click here on the form available on the library’s website. Email ID will be provided to the student on the basis of filling the same form.
The remote access system, which started last November, has now generated the email IDs of more than 30,000 students. According to the library, the database contains more than 450,000 e-books, more than 5 million e-thesis dissertations, and thousands of journals, magazines, and articles.
So far, Nepal Open University, Far Western University, Hetauda College of Social Sciences, Sagarmatha Engineering College, Baneshwor Multiple Campus have been incorporated into the online library of Tribhuvan University. The TU library has recently signed agreements with the Asian Development Bank and the National Digital Library of India for additional materials.
Accordingly, 300,000 books with the Asian Development Bank and 45 million books, journals, thesis, audio, and video materials with the digital library will be available free of cost. At present, the Tribhuvan Central Library has 4 lakh ten thousand books.

The TU central library is moving ahead with a plan to create a database as its own e-library. Post-graduate, philosophical, and doctoral research papers will also be kept online. Accordingly, 2,000 research papers have been digitized so far.
